Situated on the Diepsloot River at the northern end of Kyalami, Midrand Inanda Country Base offers the horse and nature lover a great variety. Inanda Country Base is a professionally managed livery yard, providing stabling, outrides, eventing, show jumping, dressage facilities and teaching. It is the home of the Rand Hunt and presents many two and three day events. For the competitive rider, Kyalami Equestrian Park, Burlington, Equidome, Stone Ridge,Canterbrooke and other show centres are within easy riding distance from Country Base.

The Inanda Club was founded in 1933 by a group of enthusiastic horse lovers. Inanda used to be in the country, and one could hack, even hunt, from the Club with enjoyment. As the years passed, however, it became evident that a Club dedicated to equestrian activities must have a base further out. In the late 1940’s, the then Chairman, Tommy Charles, had the idea that an effort must be made to look for a suitable property. A special sub-committee searched for and viewed various propositions, but none were considered suitable and the project went into abeyance. However, the search went on, spearheaded by the indomitable Joanne Pimm. At last a suitable property was found, and the present Inanda Country Base was purchased in 1959 for R7 500.00. The property was just a virgin piece of land and a vast development plan was necessary. Were it not for the foresight, dedication and determination of people such as Joanne Pimm, we would not have the wonderful asset that we have today in Inanda Country Base.
